Magnum’s Emergency Medical Fund!
Abandoned behind a building, this poor boy suffered in silence for God knows how long!
When he arrived at the Manhattan Animal Care and Control just a few days ago, it was evident he was suffering from Demodex, a non contagious form of mange.
No one could have imagined how quickly he would take a turn for the worse. Before long, literally within days, the stress of the kennel started to cause extreme itching and, with that,
deep tissue pyoderma and secondary infection.
After two of our volunteers visited him there yesterday we knew we had to step into action. He was lethargic and depressed and clearly suffering medically - Demodex
mange has been known to kill an animal. We couldn’t let this be a possibility!
He was bleeding from the neck and chest as well as between his toes - skin was literally peeling from his body.
Despite the pain and what must have been agonizing itching, this beautiful boy kept wagging his tail and showing the true colors of a pit bull.
